Last Day Wrap Up

Pages read (this year): 9,481
Pages read this week: 356
Books read (this year): 28

Well it has come down to the last day of the year and I thought it would be a good idea to do a wrap up.  I have read about 28 books, 9,480 pages,  more than I ever thought I would, pushed myself to read, and have started to learn the interworking's of the literacy world.
Though I only started this blog in June I have learned and taught myself a lot, I even wrote a book for NaNoWriMo.   Over all I thought it was pretty successful.
Next year I hope to learn more about books and the people that make them along with getting to know the people in the book reading community on various social media sites.  I unfortunately did not read all of the books on my reading bucket list for the year, but they will continue on in to next year and hopefully then I will finish them.
I just want to wish every one a happy new year and hope that next year will have more books and more things to blog about
-Em

OH and finished Geektastic edited by Holly Black and Cecil Castellucci 5/5

So I kind of loved this book, it had all of my favorite writers declaring their love for everything nerdy.  It contained 15 short stories with topics ranging from a Klingon Jedi love story to an internal monologue about auditioning with monologues.  Doesn't matter what type of nerd you are, you will find a story that will make you laugh and long to play D&D.

Holidays, books, and finishing out the year

Pages read: 4007
Pages read this week: 1129
Books read: 27
I am really excited for the holidays to start and to kick it off with the Christmas Booktubethon (see older posts if you want for info from this summer) by Ariel Bissett (type in her name on youtube for more info) and some other awesome readers from the internet.  My main goal is to finish up some books that I am currently reading and finish my reading bucket list for 2013, I think I have only 5 books left...but I could be wrong.  Anyway I have read 3 books since last time I blogged and have started 4 since then (oops!)

So the first book is A Midsummer Night's Scream by R.L. Stein 2/5
This book was decent and had an easy plot to follow.  I enjoyed the setting of California and the fact that most of the book mostly takes place on a movie set.  Unfortunately I did not enjoy the characters and how they interacted.  The plot also left a lot to be desired...so..if you don't want to read this book then it is not necessary.

The next book is The Trumpet of the Swan by E.B. White 3/5
A cute book that is a classic growing up and I never read it until this year.  Just as the title says this book is about a swan who had a birth defect that made him unable to make sound.  So with the help with a boy named Sam.  Some how the swan over comes his speech impediment and becomes a successful musician.  This is just a short feel good book that would be good for any age.
And the last book I read was Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan 4.7/5
So I have been wanting to read this book for a while and was not disappointed when I started it this past weekend.  So it is about a boy named Will Grayson and his life up until the point where he meets another boy named Will Grayson.  The book then splits into the two view points of the Will and how there lives intertwine after the moment that they meet.  I don't really want to say more because I know that I will give away plot points, but...I was very happen when I read a reference to one of my favorite bands Neutral Milk Hotel.

Okay I just found out that bout of books is doing another readathon! It will take place January 6th though the 12th.  So click the widget on the side for more info!

I'M BACK!

Pages read: 2878
Pages read this week (actually...this month):
Books read: 24
So you probably saw that I took part in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) and I have to say that I got so involved in that, that I kind did not update for a while.  I also did not read all that much (Screams internally).  Today was the first day that I actually got to have a normal day free of writing.  I only read three books the entire month and two of them where for school, so I don't want to review them.
As you have already probably guess the book is Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell and...
OHHHHHMMMMZZZZ I loved this book so much! It was awesome! Not only was it a cute read I felt that it might be me when I get to college...A book about a fangirl that grows up and has no clue if she should come back to the real world or stay by her fans, how much better could it get?
